Maggie is a rescue dog saved from a warzone in Lebanon. She was shot, beaten and tortured many times but she remains to be a sweet and gentle soul. Now, Maggie is living her best life with her new family.
Maggie’s terrible past
Give Maggie one quick look, and you’ll know she’s not the typical domesticated dog. You see, Maggie used to live in the streets of Lebanon tied to a box. While pregnant, the dog endured numerous beatings. One of her eyes was shot, one ear was chopped off, and she was shot 17 times. To say that Maggie lived a terrible past is an understatement. No dog deserves to live that way.
Maggie is a true survivor, and she remained positive despite her horrible experiences. But her life took a 360-degree turn when a concerned citizen in Lebanon posted Maggie’s poor condition, subsequently catching the attention of a dog lover in the UK named Kasey Carlin.
A new shot at life
Kasey’s heart ached for Maggie’s situation. She sprung into action and got in touch with the Wild At Heart Organization. Kasey and Wild at Heart devised a plan to get Maggie out of Lebanon and transport her halfway across the globe, ultimately bringing her to the UK. Kasey wanted to adopt Maggie and give the dog a new shot at life.
The plan succeeded, and Maggie is now living a wonderful like in the UK with her mom, Kasey. Kasey also has another dog named Mishka who Maggie quickly became friends with. The two dogs are so close that they treat each other like siblings.
Today, Maggie’s life keeps getting better. Because Maggie has so much love and kindness to give, Kasey decided to sign her up for a therapy dog training. Upon graduation, Maggie started visiting universities, hospitals, nursing homes, and other places that can make use of her peace and positivity.
Maggie, your strength is an inspiration. May you touch more lives and have happier and healthier days ahead of you.
Thanks to Maggie the Wonder Dog.
